About Sodium Bicarbonate
Sodium bicarbonate reacts with acid to release carbon dioxide, which is what makes it a leavening agent in baked goods and the gas source in effervescent formats. It also works as a buffer and neutralizer where a process runs too acidic. The powder is alkaline in solution, dissolves readily, and begins to break down in the presence of heat and moisture.
It is supplied dry in lined sacks, with bulk and private-label packing available for buyers who repack. Because it is sensitive to moisture and warmth, it should be stored closed and dry, away from heat, and kept apart from acids and strong odors. Do you provide a specification sheet and Certificate of Analysis?
Specifications and a Certificate of Analysis are confirmed per order against the grade actually supplied, and issued with the order documentation rather than published as fixed figures.
How should it be stored on site?
Closed, dry and cool, away from heat sources and direct sun, and separated from acids and strongly scented materials. Warmth and moisture together are what degrade it and cause caking.
Is bulk and own-brand supply available?
Yes. Bulk quantities for manufacturing use and private-label packs for repackers are both supported, with pack format and labeling agreed before production.
