IQF Vegetables

Individually quick frozen vegetables, where each pea, kernel or cut piece is frozen separately so the pack stays free-flowing instead of setting into a block. Manufacturers running dosing and weighing equipment buy IQF material for that reason, as do ready-meal lines, foodservice kitchens and private label packers.

About IQF Vegetables

Vegetables are cleaned, sorted and cut, blanched where the item requires it, then passed through a quick-freezing step that freezes pieces individually rather than in a mass. Green peas, sweet corn kernels and diced or cut vegetables from our frozen range are the usual IQF items. The material is held and shipped frozen so the free-flowing behaviour survives to the customer's line.

Supply is in bulk formats for automated filling and blending, and in retail or private label packs for buyers selling finished product. Liner, pack style and labelling are set per order. Because IQF performance depends on the cold chain being maintained, consignments are shipped frozen and frozen carriage is arranged as part of the order, and specifications and a Certificate of Analysis are confirmed per order.

Frequently asked

How does IQF differ from ordinary frozen vegetables?

In IQF each piece is frozen on its own, so the pack pours rather than arriving as a solid mass. That matters if you dose, weigh or blend automatically and want to draw off part of a pack.

What specifications can you provide before we commit?

Specifications and a Certificate of Analysis are confirmed per order, against the vegetable, cut and pack format you confirm. We do not publish figures that might not match the lot you receive.

What keeps the material from clumping?

The individual freezing step, and then maintaining the cold chain. Product is shipped frozen, since thaw and refreeze cycles are what cause pieces to bind together, so storage at your end matters as much as ours.

Which pack formats are available?

Bulk formats for manufacturing lines, and retail or private label packs for buyers selling on. Pack style, lining and labelling are agreed per order, own-brand included.
