Oils & Natural Extracts
Natural Extracts
Concentrated plant extracts used where a small addition has to deliver colour, flavour or a functional effect that the raw botanical cannot supply economically. The range covers beetroot extract, turmeric extract and paprika oleoresin, with the standardisation basis for each confirmed per order, and is bought by food, beverage, supplement and personal-care formulators.

About Natural Extracts
Extraction pulls the coloured or active fraction away from the bulk of the plant and concentrates it, after which it is held either in a liquid carrier or dried onto a solid one. Whether the result is oil-soluble, as an oleoresin is, or water-soluble decides how it must be dosed and dispersed, and pigments differ in how they tolerate heat and light.
Liquid extracts ship in lined drums, carboys or pails, and dry extracts in laminate bags inside outer cartons, with light excluded wherever the pigment calls for it. Colour strength and the marker compound an extract is standardised against are the two things that decide whether a lot works in your formulation, and both are agreed on the order.

Frequently asked
Which extracts are in the range?
Beetroot extract, turmeric extract and paprika oleoresin. If you need a botanical outside that list, ask, and we will say whether we can source it rather than assume. If you need a botanical outside that list, ask, and we will say whether we can source it rather than assume.
What strength or standardisation will I get?
Colour strength and the marker compound an extract is standardised against are set per order, and specifications with a Certificate of Analysis are confirmed against the lot supplied. Tell us the level your formulation is built around and we quote to it.
Do these disperse in water or in oil?
It depends on the extract. An oleoresin is oil-soluble and needs an oil or an emulsified phase to carry it; other extracts are handled in water systems. Tell us the system you are dosing into and we will confirm which form suits before you order.
How do I protect the colour during processing?
Natural pigments differ in how they take heat and light, so late addition, shorter hold times and light-excluding packaging all help. Share your process step and we can advise where in the run to dose.
