Carrier Oils
Cold-pressed base oils, with almond, jojoba and sesame among those most often asked for. Almond and sesame are declarable allergens; allergen status is confirmed on the specification for each order, used to dilute and carry actives rather than to add flavour of their own. About Carrier Oils
These oils are pressed mechanically and then filtered, without the heat and chemical steps that a fully refined oil passes through, which is what keeps their odour low and their character intact. Each behaves differently on the skin — some absorb quickly and feel dry, others sit heavier — and some are more prone to oxidising than others once opened.
Supply is in sealed drums, carboys or jerry cans for plant use, and in opaque or amber filled bottles where the oil goes on to a retail or private-label line. Containers are kept closed and away from light and heat, since these oils are bought for stability as much as for feel. Botanical, pressing grade and pack format are confirmed per order.

Why cold-pressed rather than refined?
Cold pressing avoids the heat and chemical stages of full refining, which is why these oils keep their own character and a softer skin feel. A refined oil is flatter and more uniform; which one suits depends on what your formulation needs from the base.
How should carrier oils be stored once received?
Keep containers sealed, cool and out of direct light, and draw with clean equipment to avoid introducing water or contaminants. Some of these oils oxidise faster than others once opened, so work through opened containers rather than holding them part-used.
